SITES in ITALY Manufacturing SAN GIORGIO Operating since 1986 Trim and final assembly shop, test track and final tuning, for Alfa Romeo Brera and Alfa Romeo Spider. The plant has been completely revamped and equipped with state-of-theart industrial automation. The assembly and test areas have been redesigned in a single building and two robotized cells have been introduced. The paint finishing zone is also entirely new and uses a closed booth system in a segregated area equipped with fume extraction.

SITES AND PERSONNEL Pininfarina Sverige SITES in SWEDEN Car Production for Volvo C 70 UDDEVALLA Joint Venture in 2003 between Pininfarina (60%) and Volvo (40%) Project management, process engineering, prototyping and testing services. All the production phases of the Volvo C 70: assembly and painting of the body and roof; installation of the mechanicals and trimming of the cabin; tests on the finished vehicle on an inhouse track and release of the vehicle ready for delivery to the customer. Prior to production, Pininfarina converted the plant from the old “satellite” type system to the conventional assembly line. The car is produced using stateof-the- art technologies such as laser welding of the body and we also registered 4 major patents: energy absorbing blocks, high suv impact protection, hydroformed A-pillar, door crash beam engagement system.
