Why reach out with the summer reading program? “At that moment that we persuade a child, any child, to cross that threshold, that magic threshold into a library, we change their lives forever, for the better. It’s an enormous force for good. ” (Barack Obama, 2005)

Since 2010: 2, 654 underserved children, teens, and families have participated in summer reading programs as part of the outcomes initiative. They include: * Teen moms * Children enrolled in a literacy program * Migrant children * Teens in a residential drug facility * New and expectant parents * Youth in detention facilities
