COMA Metadata Browser Hardeep Bansil Birmingham Weekly ATLAS Meeting 27/10/2011
COMA • • Metadata is “data about other data” In ATLAS, Tags are used to store this info (around 1 k. B per event) • COMA (Conditions / Configuration Metadata for ATLAS) is an acronym for a metadata catalog and its related services: – standalone system with interfaces – now part of general effort to consolidate/relate ATLAS Metadata – Contains extracted, refined, reduced, and derived information from system specific data sources (e. g. Conditions DB, Trigger DB, …) plus information from non-database sources – Information interfaced through set of Browsers and Reports • Key service for finding out about different data taking periods – Replacing need to keep lists on ATLAS Twiki 2
COMA • COMA Portal (grid certificate in browser is required) https: //atlas-tagservices. cern. ch/tagservices/Run. Browser/index. html Will spend most of time on this Will mention these later Still in development, ignore for now 3
Period Menu • • Menu Purpose: Show Data Preparation defined Periods giving links to reports of general info about their Runs Choose the Period of interest: à à • • By Year (e. g. all ‘ 2010’) By Project (e. g. ‘data 10_7 Te. V’) By specific Period or Group Click on the project and then Period of interest Help page Clicking on any of the highlighted links brings up Period report Wildcards can be entered in this optional section, then click on Submit button Very fast way of getting Period info 4
Period Report • For given period get summary of conditions and dates • Links: to COMA & ATLAS run. Query multi-Run Reports for chosen Period • Similar information for sub-periods 5
Runs Report • Purpose: show basic information for all runs matching the input criteria • For given run get summary of dates, LB, events, Trigger Super Master Key • Links: to COMA run report, ATLAS run. Query and ATLAS data summary 6
Single Run Report General Run info: • • Project, LB range, Date … Events, HLT Release … Links to COMA reports – COMA Master Key report Links to external reports – HLT release, AMI, Lumi. DS, run. Query, Trigger, PSEvol Yellow sections expand: • • Data Periods Active Streams – • AMI tags (TAG production) – • Includes first run and reprocessing (links to AMI and ELSSI) Prescale Evolution – • Physics, Express, Calibration PS Key changes Trigger section (massive amounts of info in this section) – – All HLT signatures inc. HLT chains All LVL 1 items Link to the run/stream in AMI Find all runs with the same AMI TAG Can generate reports on Trigger chains and Prescale evolution 7
• Report Menu & Browser Report menu gets you to the same information as the Period Menu but asks you to type in search criteria – Good if you know something about the run you are looking for • Browser uses drop down menu interface to apply criteria – Only produces list of Runs with Lumi Blocks to go into ELSSI (Event-Level Selection Service Interface) in order to take a quick look at events (slow, would need experience with ELSSI) Report Menu Browser 8
