Coaching in KDSA u Vision: – Coaches: To train and develop coaches to the highest standard to give players the maximum benefit – Players: To provide them with the best coaching resources to allow them to develop to the best of their ability
Coaches u Training: – Any coach will have the opportunity to attend a course within the KDSA – All coaches should have attended a minimum of a grassroots course – Continual on-going training u Development: – Coaches Association – Development plan – Pathways
Players u Ensure that coaches are properly trained and receive continuous support from KDSA u KDSA / club initiatives & coaching programmes (eg Wahroonga 80 kids 6 -12 yr)

Northern Suburbs Football Coaches Association The main objectives of NSFCA are to: u provide local coaches with a cohesive structure to foster the growth of coaching a critical aspect of football u provide coaches with education relating to current best practice in the game u u give coaches the opportunity to enhance their qualifications provide coaches with pathways for their personal development and to allow them to give back to the game u u develop a junior coaching/ cadet coach program encourage greater involvement in coaching by girls and women
Football NSW charges for coaching in 2010 Grassroots Football Certificate 3 hours FREE TO ALL CANDIDATES Junior Football Licence 14 hours $90 Youth Football Certificate 1 7 hours $70 Youth Football Certificate 11 14 hours $90 Youth Football Licence 20 minutes $30 Total $190 for all 3 components Senior Football Certificate 1 7 hours $70 Senior Football Certificate 11 14 hours $90 Senior Football Licence 20 minutes $30 Total $190 for all 3 components
Grassroots Football Certificate - Course Information This course is of three hours duration and is aimed at beginner coaches and teachers of players up to 10 years of age. It is designed to give them a basic understanding of their role and to provide them with practical ideas for training sessions. Course Objectives and Outcomes: After attending this course the coach will have a basic understanding of: u What kids’ coaching is about u What kind of activities to provide at training sessions u How to put together the content of a kids’ training session
The course centres on the FFA publication ‘Coaching Grassroots Football’, which each participant receives free of charge when attending this course. Participants will be shown a range of practices from the book and will be able to use the book as an ongoing coaching resource. Pre-Requisites Notes: Minimum age 15 years old Candidate Assessment: There is no assessment: it is an 'attendance-only' course. Accreditation Award: Participants who attend the whole three-hour course will receive an FFA Certificate, and will be recorded on the FFA database as having attended. *Included in the course fee candidates will also receive a free one year membership to the online coaching resource recently purchased by FFA called s 2 s
Coaching Courses in 2010 FFA now recommends that: u Head Coaches at association clubs run Grassroots u Regional Directors of Coaching teach Head Coaches in-turn to ‘present’ at Grassroots level u Now part of Head coaches role/expectations at club level u Other courses run by instructors (Junior/Youth/Senior)
Plans for 2010 u To set-up dates & times for teaching ‘presenters’ u Provide information on how to set-up a course u Support for Head Coaches in roll-out of new courses u Increase awareness of our Coaching Association u More practical sessions at each meeting
