v Cleopatra was an Egyptian pharaoh and she was great at it. But do you know that she was more then a pharaoh? We thought she was just a pharaoh too, until we did a little bit of research. Now we’re going to share with you what we found about Cleoptra…

v. It is said that Cleopatra was quite beautiful and extremely intelligent.

v. She could speak 9 different languages. v. She was the 1 st Ptolemy pharaoh who could actually speak Egyptian

CAESAR AND CLEOPATRA: 48 -44 BC

v. Cleopatra met Julius Caesar when she rolled herself up in a Persian carpet and was given to him. v. Julius fell in love with Cleopatra and they had a child 9 months later. They named their child Caesarion which means little Caesar. v. Cleopatra wanted Caesarion to be next ruler so she killed anyone who stood in her way. v. Caesar was then assassinated on 15 March 44 BC.

ANTHONY AND CLEOPATRA: 41 -31 BC

v. After the death of Caesar, Marc Anthony fell in love with Cleopatra. v. Cleopatra was the mother of his twins. v. But Mark had to return to Rome to marry the daughter of Octavio. v. He did this so he could gain power in Rome.

HER DEATH

v Her reign for Egypt soon ended when she committed suicide when she lost the Battle of Actium to Caesar heir. v It was said, Cleopatra died because she poisoned herself or she was bitten by an asp(snake).

v. Many artists portrait that she let the asp bite her, while others say she made the asp angry enough to bite her. v. After her death there was no more pharaohs never to rule Egypt again
