Clearing Tips • Utilize the quick whistle – catch the opponent ; practice quick whistles; in the pre-game conference determine the officials use of the quick whistle • Buy Time when needed- get a horn, fumble with a mouth piece , sub someone – adjust your personnel – get the right guy on the ball • Simple Commands : Bust, Up, Carry, Redo, Over, Bait, Switch • Use the Margins – Don’t get trapped. • Get up field – extra steps – walk up-field – OB – get what they give you. • What’s your assistant doing?
