HISTORY: Ø The Chinatown that you know today has been there since the 1950’s with a long line of history trailing behind. Ø The original Chinatown in London was towards the east end of the town. Ø During the 1960’s, Chinatown was then established as its very own community. During this time, the number of Chinese people who lived in the area was up around the tens of thousands. Even more Chinese workers arrived from Hong Kong.

ATTRACTIONS Ø Chinese Enclave- This section of Chinatown is where the primary immigrants moved in after World War II. Ø Chuen Cheng Ku- This is one of the only remaining restaurants that will serve you Dim Sum by trolley. Ø Fung Shing- This restaurant puts a whole new meaning to fine dining Chinese style. They are open daily, allowing you to come in whenever you would like a bite to eat.

FESTIVALS 1) Chinese New Year- This is one of the biggest celebrations of the Chinese tradition. This includes dancing, singing, and acts you may have never seen before right on stage. To close the festivities, they light fireworks towards the end of the day. 2) Mid Autumn Festival- The festival is held all day long, and it expands throughout Chinatown. This is one of the biggest colorful events of the year for Chinatown

Ø The Chinese supermarkets are also worth visiting. They sell everything from curious to culinary spices. Ø Supermarkets specializing in exotic oriental cooking ingredients are also a favorite among visitors to the London Chinatown.
