CHEMS – Which Server? l The best is the one you have now – Don’t make any changes Novell with the 4. 8 -SP 2 Client l Windows 2000 or 2003 l Can use a 64 bit server/OS for CHEMS l Contact me with any changes / drivers l Citrix Servers are not supported l Can’t use a slow link (1 -3 MB T 1 / Radio) l 5
CHEMS – Which Server? l CHEMSPRO does not require a server – The data is stored on a server in Madison – You do need reliable Internet access l Do NOT get rid of your existing server! - Unplug it but don’t let it out of your sight - At some point I’ll make an announcement 6
CHEMS – Which Workstation? Just about Any version of Windows is OK l Many counties moved to Win XP-pro – XP has been very stable – XP Printing works fine with CHEMS l Can’t use a 64 bit workstation OS – Windows Vista (32 bit only 4 GB or less memory) l Computer – Bigger & Faster is always better – Any Windows capable computer will work 7
