Review of gender Russian nouns are classified according to grammatical gender: Masculine - ends in a consonant, -ь, or -й Feminine - ends in -а or -я Neuter - ends in -о or –е
Review of gender Important!: nouns that end in -а or –я and refer to male persons are masculine. Don’t forget!: мой modifies a masculine noun моя modifies a feminine noun.
Memorize, memorize, and memorize some more! Memorize all of the vocabulary on page 19. You’ll find that you recognize many of the words!
