Before the insolvency of Alma Tour • Could not organize return flight on the 10. 9. 2011 (Saturday) from Bulgaria to Finland. • I had a brief talk with the office of Alma on Sunday. • It started to be clear that Alma didn´t have any money or other means to buy the flights or other services. • Consumer Agency had long talks with the company on Monday morning and informed the company that it had until 16: 00 to show proof that it could continue its operations.
Insolvency of Alma Tour • Alma could not show any proof before the deadline that it could continue its operations so Consumer Agency declared it insolvent. • Consumer Agency leased a plane to get the passengers from Bulgaria. • There was 220 passengers that fly back home on Monday night.
Bankruptcy of Alma Tour • Next few weeks were rather interesting as Alma was not declared bankrupt until the 3. 10. 2011. • First Consumer Agency informed passengers that it would be better to wait until the company would cancel the trip as then passengers could be sure that they could get money from the guarantee. • As Alma had not organized any trips after 10. 9. 2011 Consumer Agency informed the passengers on the 21. 9. 2011 that the
Guarantee of Alma Tour • It has also been unique bankruptcy from the guarantee point of view. • Alma had a guarantee from Nordea bank (Nordic bank) until 5. 9. 2011. • After the Nordea guarantee Almas guarantee was given from Bulgaria. • After some talks with Nordea they agreed that the Nordea guarantee would cover trips that had been bought before 6. 9. 2011 and all the rest would be covered by the other guarantee.
