Yahotyn was a centre of intensive cultural life. It was visited by O. V. Kapnist, V. L. Lukashevich, E. P. Hrebinka, V. I. Sternberg, M. V. Gogol, M. A. Markevich, M. I. Glinka, T. G. Shevchenko.
M. V. Gogol visited Repnin’s estate in 1848.

Yahotyn has well developed industry. The fowl-run was created in 1960. The sugar refinery by Illich was built in 1910. Yahotyn’s Creamery was created in 1956. The bread-baking plant was built in 1960. Also there are engineering plant, fish breeding farm, mixed fodder plant, asphalt factory, “Budplastik” factory and brickfield.
