A group of words, which makes complete sense is called a sentence. Like “Humpty sat on a wall”.

Declarative/ Assertive Sentence A sentence that makes a statement. Like Ali is going to school. 2) Interrogative Sentence A sentence that asks a question. The part which names the person or thing we are speaking about. This is called subject of sentence. The part which tells something about the subject is called predicate of the sentence. Bus is coming. In this sentence Bus is Subject, & is coming ( Predicate).

A gerund is that form of verb which ends in – ing and has the force of the noun and a verb. Like: Reading is his favourite pastime.
A gerund being a verb-noun may be used as Subject of a verb (Hunting deer is not allowed in this country) Object of a transitive Verb (Stop Playing) Object of a Preposition (He is fond of swimming)
