The Business Problem The Problem European Financial Settlement Integration Business Issue Banks are asking for a single settlement platform for European securities. This is because cross- border securities settlement in the EU are expensive – 6 times more expensive than domestic and domestic settlement in EU are 8 times more expensive than in the USA. The Technical Challenge The Technical Solution Communication Interface – This is the planned shared platform from Euroclear which will allow all Euroclear members to share a common messaging exchange platform BT and Euroclear BT submitted a bid to Euroclear to be one of several, CCI compliant, franchised operators of a managed network service between Euroclear and its global client base. The CCI is a new initiative to provide a common communications infrastructure for any globally based customer wishing to use any Euroclear application.
