What is Biz. Pa. L? • Biz. Pa. L is an online web service that provides Canadian businesses with customized information on permit and licence requirements for all levels of government. • Initiated and developed by Industry Canada in 2003 with three pilot jurisdictions: • Whitehorse, Yukon • Kamloops, B. C. • Halton, Ontario • Currently in use in many municipalities across the country.
Governance • Partnership is managed by a Steering Committee of crossjurisdictional partners. • • Service Alberta and the City of Edmonton have seats on the Steering Committee. Participating provinces are responsible for: • soliciting municipality participation and guiding implementation projects • paying the software licence fees
