Mainframe CASS Status q In Sustainment Phase - Oldest stations now 18 years old (planned 20 -year life cycle) q Seven Year PBL awarded to LMSTS in November 2008 – Support covered until November 2015 q Vendor support commitment through 2015 – USN will need to support longer – Block I stations being salvaged already – Block II/III in 2016/2017 q Major changes in process – Developing a replacement for CNI assets with greater capability – CNIAS – USN having battery problems – life limited solution in work q Will begin to replace mainframe CASS with: – RTCASS in 2009 – e. CASS in 2015 q CASS Fleet Support Review (FSR) scheduled 5 -7 May in VA Beach 8
CASS Performance Based Logistics q New PBL Starting FY - 2009 – CSP closed out after 8 successful years – PBL is essentially identical to CSP – Prime Contractor • Lockheed Martin – Simulation Training & Support Division – Period is 5 yrs with two 1 yr options 24 hour LOCKHEED MARTIN Turnaround on BROAD ARROWS 9
Communications/Navigation/ IFF Ancillary Set (CNIAS) q Developing a new and improved CASS ancillary for CNI function – Will eliminate CNI MF CASS configuration by 2018 (with USN JTIDS sundown) q Includes real-time Link 16, IFF, TACAN test capability q Includes improved MIDS-LVT and CIT TPSs – Improved MIDS TPS will now require CNIAS assets – Expandable via software for future JTRS waveforms q Will be an ancillary to MF CASS RF, RTCASS, and the future e. CASS q Development schedule (CNIAS and TPSs) – August 2007 to August 2010 q CNIAS production - August 2010 to August 2011 10 10
