ASTRID LINDGREN Astrid Lindgren was born on the 14 th November 1907.

This is Astrid´s childrens home and it is in Småland. In 1914 Astrid begins the school in Vimerby´s small school. Astrid Lindgren´s confirmation in 1920.
In. 1926 Astrid moved to Stockholm and in December 4 Astrid had a boy who she gav the name Lars. But Astrid couldn´t take care of him when she studied. Lars was left in Copenhagen. with two foster parents. But Astrid went very often to Copenhagen to see Lars. In 1928 Astrid begins to work on KAK and the chef of the office is Sture Lindgren. In 1931 in the spring Astrid and Sture got married and Lars can at last come home back to Astrid.
In 1934 in May 21: st Astrid got her second child. A daughter with name Karin. In 1941 Astrid and her family moved to a new flat in Stockholm and there she lived the rest of her life. In 1941 Astrid tells the story Pippi Longstocking for the first time. In 1944 Astrid slipped and she was confined to bed in one week and than Astrid wrote the story of Pippi Longstocking on paper for the first time. Astrid sent the book to Bonniers publishing house
In September 1944 Astrid wins Rabe’n & Sjögrens girls book competion with the book ”Britt Mari lättar sitt hjärta. ” In 1945 came the book ”Kerstin och jag” out. In 1946 came the book ”Mästerdetektiven Blomqvist” out. In 1947 came the book ”Alla vi barn i Bullerbyn” out.
In 1949 came the book ”Nils Karlsson. Pyssling” out. In 1950 was Astrid rewared with Nils Holgersson-medal for the book ”Nils Karlsson -Pyssling. ” In 1952 come the book ”Lotta på Bråkmakargatan” out. In 1950 came the book ”Kati i Amerika” out.
In 1954 came the book ”Mio min Mio” out. In 1955 came the first book of Karlsson out This name was ”Lillebror och Karlsson på taket. ” In 1956 came the book ”Rasmus på luffen” out. In 1958 Astrid got the world’s top children’s book prise: HC Andersson-medal.
Astrid’s mother Hanna died in 1961 In 1959 came the book ”Sunnanäng” out. In 1960 came the book ”Madicken” out. In 1964 came the book ”Vi på Saltkråkan” out both as a book and as a film. In 1963 came the book ”Emil i Lönneberga” out. .
In 1969 Astrid father Samuel August died and now when Astrid’s both parents are dead she goes to Näs and collects all of Samuel August histories. And than she wrote a book of Samuel August and that came out in 1975 and the name of it was ”Samuel August från Sevetorp och Hanna i Hult. ” In November 14 in 1987 Astrid was 80 years old and was celebrated very much at a theatre, Göta Lejon in Stockholm. Astrid received the Tolstoy medal in Moscow.
In 1997 Astrid was 90 years old and was chosen to the Swede of the year. Astrid died at the 28 January and than the biggest book writer of children's books of the world is dead. Astrid wrote all the books for the child in herself.
