CITY ECONOMY - ASTANA • The area conducts vigorous foreign economic activity, develops mutually advantageous communications with the states of the near and far abroad. The main trade partners are Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tajikistan. Generally grain, meat, flour and dairy products are taken out to the states of the CIS, fuel and energy resources, production of chemical industry, wood, timber, paper, hire of ferrous metals, consumer goods arrive from there. • Astana and the northern region of the country adjoining it have huge prospects of development.
INDUSTRY • The Akmolinsky area is one of republic granaries, the large center of agricultural mechanical engineering. The one fifth part of the made grain, the tenth part of production of animal husbandry, the fourth part of sale of grain to the state falls to its share.
