WP 1 • TITLE: Definition of project staff, planning of activities, initial and ending meeting of International Committee (Palermo) • Lead contractor: SOPMARE, Arsenale di Palermo • Activities: – 1 – “Palazzo dei Normanni” Meeting – Palermo. – 2 – “Arsenale Borbonico/Museo del Mare” Meeting – Palermo

WP 2 • TITLE: Intermediate meetings of International Committee for sustainable development of Mediterranean basin (Barcelona and Alexandria) and International Forum in Paris and educational Atelier • Lead contractor: UNESCO, EGYPT-DUA-SCA, AMC • Activities: • 1– “Archaeological Museum” Meeting – Barcelona • • “The contribution of Culture to sustainable development around the Mediterranean basin” 2 “The Library of Alexandria” Meeting “The contribution of Science to sustainable development in the Mediterranean area” 3 - UNESCO FORUM – Paris “The contribution of Science Policy to economical and social development in the Mediterranean area”

WP 3 • TITLE: Elaboration of the results, editorial publication and long distance teaching module Lead contractor: SOPMARE, UNESCO, UNINETTUNO Activities: • elaboration of the meeting results • preparation of the final publication • preparation of distance-teaching module.

WP 4 • TITLE: Diffusion, dissemination and transferability of results • Lead contractor: SOPMARE, UNESCO • Activities: – – – – – Documents collection Data processing and results deduction. Models development with long, medium and short-term forecast. Indirect and transversal communication among partner. Examination of the results. Drafting of a “best-practices manual” Website realization Production : Printing and communication of environmental policy-driven results through: • informative leaflet and articles on the local press; • meetings and workshops on the matter for the spreading out of the project methodologies and topics; • publication of thematic tables and of cultural heritage news; • realization of a web site; • realisation of DVDs and CDs Rom. • TV Documentary

WP 5 • TITLE: Technical and scientific coordination • Lead contractor: UNESCO, SOPMARE • Activities: – Coordination of the interdisciplinary pilot study of 10 archaeological coastal sites of the Mediterranean: – park of the Egadi islands in the Channel of Sicily; – site of Sinis, in Sardinia; – site of Carthage, in Tunisia; – site of Pharos island, in Alexandria of Egypt; – site of Thessaloniki/Termaico Gulf, in Greece; – site of Empuries, Catalonia in Spain; – sites of Malta; – sites of Villefranche-sur-Mer Bay, in France; – site of Tire, in Lebanon; – sites of Gibraltar.

WP 6 • TITLE: Recommendations and guidelines • Lead contractor: SOPMARE, UNESCO • Activities: – – – – Documents collection. Data processing and results deduction. Models development with long, medium and short-term forecast. Indirect and transversal communication among all partners Examination of the results. Drafting of a “bestpractices manual- guideline” Realization of specially designed website for the project activities results diffusion. Production and communication of environmental policy-driven results.

WP 7 - a • TITLE: Planning, internal and overall coordination activities, communication, networking, monitoring activities and internal assessment of activities • Lead contractor: SOPMARE – management committee • Activities: Management and Decision-making Committee work: • administrative management • monitoring the timely delivery of elements produced by each task and the regular reports production. • providing a right and efficient project financial management, collecting and checking the reports and the bookkeeping vouchers of each partner • providing correct and timely statements to the European Commission and solves problems that may arise. • Drafting and delivery of Progress, Interim and Final Reports

WP 7 - b • Activities: – To establish executive rules for partners relations management. – Creation of a linking network using the website – To specify a number of indicators to monitor the project, using the chrono programme and the general project – planning, the milestones and the expected results. – To realize a self evaluation and an internal assessment of the project, involving all partners on the basis of ad hoc questionnaires. – To realize a mid-term assessment (at month 12) that will involve the EC project Officer, upon which will depend the decision to continue the project or not, will be carried out.

WP 8 • TITLE: Management of the activities in relation to the European Commission • Lead contractor: SOPMARE • Activities: – documents, communication between partners and EC channel arrangement; – executive rules for partners relations management; – predisposition of the organizational chart; – step-by-step monitoring over: completed activities, every single stage and timely delivery of requested documents, collection of produced records and of project costs statements; – operating and logistic support in transfers; – execution and planning of the check-audit for work progress in relation to timetable program.
