¨is the act of granting certain powers or the authority to carry out a particular task or duty. A group of people officially authorized to perform certain duties or functions.
In St. Mark 16: 15 the Lord Jesus gives the commission to the disciples on the eve of Christ’s Ascension. He commanded the disciples to preach the gospel to the whole creation. The Savior’s goal was world evangelism.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
The Lord informed them that there would be two results when they preached the gospel. Some would believe and be saved; some would disbelieve and be condemned.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
The important question to be asked today is “Does the born again Christian” have the same commission upon their lives that was given to the first disciples?
18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
All things are of God. He is the source and author of them all. There is no ground for human boasting.
God has also reconciled us to Himself. He has received us into favor, bringing us into harmony with Himself.
God has also given us (the believer) the ministry of reconciliation. We are to aim to bring others into harmony with Him.
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
The ministry of reconciliation is to share the message that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.
It was God (personally present) in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself.
God does not count men’s’ sins against them if they accept Christ as their savior. He reconciles us by blotting out our sins.
¨ God has commissioned the born again believer to promote the message of reconciliation. The Gospel is the good news.
¨ The good news is that God has provided a way for sinful man to have his sins not only forgiven; but he can become a new creation through Christ
17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
¨is an authorized messenger or representative of their government or some other sovereign authority. They do business on the behalf of another. When they deliver the message they have been
¨given; they have the support and backing of the government they represent.
The believer is an ambassador for the Lord. What a high and lofty position to be in. God has entrusted us with this marvelous privilege of going forth and representing Him by
preaching the glorious message of the gospel to all men everywhere and for sure we will have His support and backing when we do and say what He has instructed us to do. God did not give this sacred
charge to angels, but to feeble men like us.
1. As Christ’s personal representatives we are to beg men to accept Christ for his sake.
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.
The word means “to fall upon”. To force, to drive, or constrain. To exact a strong irresistible force on. We are not to compel by force of arms as has been done in the history of
Christendom, such as the early century religious military campaigned crusades, but rather by force of a loving argument.
If we would stop to consider the fact that when a soul dies without Christ they will burn in hell forever; I don’t think we would be so lackadaisical when it comes to sharing the gospel.
¨ Most church fellowships are disinterested in winning souls to Christ. Why you may ask? A large number of them have been distracted by satan using people and things to cause them to turn away from
¨ what is most important to God. Most churchgoers are mainly concerned about what they are going to receive and or what position they hold in the church. There is a great distraction because there is
¨ a great distortion of the word of God.
THE MAKING OF A GOD-FILLED WITNESS
The first step is to surrender ones self completely to the Lord. We must relinquish possession and control of all that we are to the Lord.
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
We must submit ourselves to follow Christ. He will then teach us to be soul winners.
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
We must be filled and led by the Holy Spirit.
¨ 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
We must rely on the Holy Spirit to draw men to Christ and to show them their sinfulness.
44 No man come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
The Greek word for reprove is and it means to convict or convince.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is a convicting and convincing ministry. He will convict of sin, as the child of God is preaching the Gospel of Christ.
Again it is a major key for the child of God to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The second key is for the child of God to preach the Gospel of Christ. With this conviction soul winning is a sure thing.
We must always remember the main reason Christ came to the earth
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
We must also remember that there is only one thing people can do on earth that will cause joy in heaven.
1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found [it], he layeth [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find [it]?
9 And when she hath found [it], she calleth [her] friends and [her] neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
The main focus of God should become the main focus of the church.
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and [for] all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
We should ask ourselves; can we be filled with the love of God and be led by the Holy Spirit and not have a deep desire to win souls to Christ.
30 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
31 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
I Corinthians 9: 22 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some.
I Corinthians 9: 22 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some.
Great joy will always fill the heart of the soul winner.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].
Those who live sacrificially for the spreading of the gospel may endure hardship today, but great joy will come when we see souls being saved. Especially when we see them in Heaven.
Someone penned a chorus to a hymn, which says:
Let me look on the crowd as my savior did, Till’ my eyes with tears grow dim, Let me look till I pity the wandering sheep And love them for love of Him’.
HOW TO SHARE THE GOSPEL
Smile and introduce yourself and ask for permission to pray for that person
If they consent, pray for them to be blessed. Pray for their physical and mental health. Pray they will have all the money they need and that they will be protected from evil
If they consent, pray for them to be blessed. Pray for their physical and mental health. Pray they will have all the money they need and that they will be protected from evil
spirits and evil people. Pray God will bless their family and friends the same way. Then pray when they die (pause) that they would go to heaven. Then ask them “If they
should die this very moment, are they sure their soul would go to heaven? ”.
If they answer yes, then ask them how do they know? If they don’t answer that they have accepted Jesus Christ as savior and start enumerating on how nice they’ve been
you must then share with them the need to receive Jesus Christ as savior.
Then preach the Gospel to them. Tell them that we all were born sinners and deserve to go to Hell but that St. John 3: 16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life”.
Then have them repeat after you the plan of Salvation.
Ask for their name and phone number so you can pray for them
