It is approximately twice as heavy as air. Cause severe cold burns to the skin Forms a flammable mixture with air in concentrations of between 2% and 10%,
Most gases are heavier than air, some are lighter e. g. Helium, but LP Gas is much heavier than air Heavier gases displace the air and therefore oxygen thus restricting breathing Humans need approximately 18% oxygen to breathe (Normal is approx 21%) Some gases dilute or replace the oxygen normally in the atmosphere. These are called asphyxiant gases In enclosed spaces the effects of the gas replacing oxygen in the air creates added danger
The fire extinguishers shall be installed on the transport unit in a way that they are easily accessible. The installation shall be carried out in such away that they are protected against effects of the weather so that their operational safety is not affected
