anglewood Neighborhood Association Safety New Hello and welcome to the first printing of the Tanglewood Neighborhood Association Safety News or TNASN for short. I’m Bill Smith the Chairman of the Tanglewood Association Safety Committee. The intent of this letter is to keep the families in the Tanglewood and Brandywine neighborhoods informed of what is going on in their neighborhoods and to better protect their families and homes. So please read all the information presented here and get involved! Have you checked out the Tanglewood Neighborhood Association web site yet? If not you can get to it by going to the following URL: As mentioned earlier, this letter is also used to inform you of what has been happening in the neighborhood. In case you haven’t heard, Tanglewood has been experiencing a rash of burglaries and vandalism in the past several months. Several of the burglaries were being accomplished by two men from outside the neighborhood, who have recently been caught by the police. They were breaking into cars and taking anything of value from inside. A lesson learned from this is to keep your vehicle doors locked and don’t leave anything of value or contains personal data inside your car. Also, never leave your garage remote in your car when parked outside, because it is the key to your house! http: //www. tanglewoodneighborhood. com The vandalism includes several vehicles which had their tires slashed, Christmas lights being stolen, fences broken, a water fountain broken and an unfinished house broken into. The disturbing thing about this vandalism is that it is believed that a lot of it is being caused by local kids from the neighborhood! At present to access the sites that contain personal information, you’ll have to sign in with your e-mail address and fill out the other information and approval will be sent to your e-mail account. Information presented on the home-page covers upcoming events, personnel, and important safety information on problems being experienced in our neighborhood. It also has a calendar telling you when the events are and when and where association meetings are being held. We are currently upgrading the website to make it even more useful. Please talk to your kids and ask them if they know of anyone who might be involved in this vandalism. If they have any information, please contact me at 691 -7424 so we can pass it on to the police and our neighbors. Again, PLEASE get involved in your neighborhood and help--sign in to the web page, come to the meetings, keep an eye out for strangers, and pass on any information you might have on problems in your area. If you are a victim of a crime or vandalism report it to the police no matter how small. If the police don’t know about it, it didn’t happen as far as they’re concerned. Only through a concerted effort can we stop neighborhood crime. —Thank You!
