Project Objectives-Maize Based systems § Introducing improved crop varieties (maize, beans, groundnuts, soybean) to improve crop productivity in target sites § Disseminate best bet agronomic management options to enhance crop productivity in target sites § Introduce land, soil and water conservation technologies for sustainable use of land, soil and water in project sites. § Community empowerment

Project Targets § Maize based systems- a minimum, 80, 000 maize farmers in 10 Districts of the ZOI adopting improved technologies by 2017 § 1 st year = 25 villages (5 districts x 5 villages/district) , 25 x 25 (learners or babies/village)=625 § 2 nd year = 625 x 15 (grand babies or learners) = 9, 375 § Plus 625 x 15 = 9, 375 § = 18, 750 § X 5 § =93, 750
