ACPS in China • Who paid for it? • The College Board and Han Ban paid for air, food, travel and cultural visits • ACPS paid the registration fee • Staff paid their own fare to Newark and N. Y.
ACPS in China • Where in China? We were in Beijing for three days, Wuxi in Jiangsu province for 3 days and then back to Beijing for two more days.
ACPS in China Why China? • Hong Kong and Shanghai are now global leaders, supplanting New York • China is the United States biggest foreign lender, holding more than 17 trillion in U. S. money • While the U. S. deficit has increased 102% percent since 2000, China’s surplus has increased by 841%

ACPS in China Ingredients of a Successful Partnerships with Chinese Schools • Create a system that offers many forms of support (one size does not fit all) • Identify the goals of the partnership (fluency, cultural awareness, global understanding, etc. ) • Identify a dedicated person at each school in which you have a partnership to oversee the mission
