Freshmen Seminars • http: //www. brown. edu/Administration/Dean_of_the_College/First_Year_S eminars/ • Limited to a maximum of 20 students and often enrolling even fewer students • First Year Seminars are an ideal way to get to know one of your professors well in an Academic setting • Small size and therefore congenial setting encourages participation in lively discussion and provides regular opportunity to receive feedback from the instructor on the work you produce for the class. • If you didn’t get a course in Fall, then please look out for a suitable opportunity when choosing courses for Spring Prof Rick Gaitskell semester. Rules & Regs: Summary • Signature Required to convert selection into firm registration No penalty if make changes before deadline (see list at end) • Take & pass 4 courses each semester Expected to complete 32 courses at graduation (30 abs. min) 8 semester of full time study • Flexibility 3, 4 or 5 courses in a semester (although taking 3 in freshman or sophomore year erodes flexibility) • Special Course Sequences Many can take courses in any order However, Premed, Sc.
