Abraham Harold Maslow April 1, 1908 – June 8, 1970
Abraham Maslow , the future famous psychologist and psychotherapist, a leading researcher in humanistic psychology and psychotherapy, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1908. He was the son of uneducated Jewish parents who emigrated from Russia.
As a youth, Maslow moved to the University of Wisconsin. After receiving his doctorate Maslow returned to New York to work with the famous theorist in the field of teaching EL Thorndike at Columbia University. He then moved to Brooklyn College.
In 1951, Maslow was appointed head of the department of psychology at Brandeis University,and then there was a professor of psychology. In 1967 and 1968, Maslow was elected president of the American Psychological Association. In 1969 he retired from Brandeis, and became a Charitable Foundation William P. Laughlin In Menlo Park, California.
In 1970 at age 62 Maslow died of a heart attack, which was a result of chronic heart disease.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is often portrayed in the shape of a pyramid. Maslow's theory suggests that the most basic level of needs must be met before the individual will strongly desire the secondary or higher level needs. Maslow also coined the term Metamotivation to describe the motivation of people who go beyond the scope of the basic needs and strive for constant betterment.

Physiological needs (needs of the lowest level) are necessary for survival. These include the need for food, water protection, recreation, sexual needs
Requirements include security requirements to protect the physical and psychological dangers of the outside world and the belief that physiological needs aresatisfied in the future.
Social needs (need for affiliation, friendship, love) include a sense of belonging to anything or anyone, support.
Requirements in respect include the need for personal achievement, competence, respect from others, recognition.
The need for self-expression, self – need to realize their potential and growth as individuals.
First, consumers want to meet the needs of lower-level, then they may think about the next meeting on the importance of needs
