The 6 A’s – In the German literature and my own experience it is well established that 6 illnesses have the same underlying causes and respond to similar treatment strategies: • • Autism Asperger’s Allergies Atopic skin diseases Asthma ADHD seizure Disorders – The treatment suggestions outlined in this paper can not only be applied to autism but to a large degree to the other 6 illnesses – Environmental and genetic factors seem to determine how a child adapts to the toxic insult and which one of these illnesses develops 2

Common physical findings in ASD (all consistent with expected and reported findings of severe mercury toxicity) – Blocked “mirror-neurons” in frontal cortex (inability to respond to mom’s feelings, love, gaze, smile) – Inflammatory Bowel Disease – Increased size of frontal lobe and white matter – Cerebellar atrophy (reduced number of Purkinje cells) – Increased “neuronal packing” in cortex – Cytoarchitectural changes in subcortical structures – Micro-and astroglia activation with leaky blood brain barrier – Altered glutamate receptors – Hippocampal damage – Autoimmunity (ethyl-mercury induced) – Elevation of inflammatory cytokines in brain and CSF: MCP-1, IFNgamma – Ig. Common energetic findings in ASD – Energy body/soul displaced into the surrounding area near the physical body (huge energy field) – Fritz Albert Popp Ph. D: the bio-photonfield surrounding the physical body is the central regulating agency of all metabolic processes. The signals are received and transmitted via extra-and intracellular tubulin microfilaments (which is destroyed at low doses by mercury) – Enhanced energetic perception (child knows what you are doing behind their back) – Enhanced capability for telepathic communication – Perceptions and communications cannot be received in, and down-stepped into, the physical body (function of tubulin) – Very responsive to properly used Energy Medicine applications – Switching and blocked regulation – Hyperactivity in most meridian systems – Autonomic dysfunction – Severe 2 nd and 6 th Chakra abnormalities – Because of extraordinary energetic sensitivity the ASD child becomes recipient of unhealed transgenerational family issues (this perpetuates the illness) 4

Three main sources of mercury toxicity: 1. Thimerosal (ethyl-mercury thiosalicilate) from vaccines, Rh-prevention (Rhogam), other medications • Autism and ASD is absent in the Amish community where children are not vaccinated. As soon as they do, they also become ill • Beware of the “Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation” – – – Forced vaccinations with the help of GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and immunization) onto African countries Amount of thimerosal, which was known to cause trouble in US children and outlawed in the US in 1999, was doubled in the vaccines for Africa pushed by Gates Since introduction of mass vaccine program in China an estimated 1. 5 million children became ill with ASD since 1999. An unknown number of children (in the hundredthousands) in Nigeria alone developed ASD after forced vaccinations pushed by Gates. There was no ASD in Nigeria before. Awareness of vaccine-ASD connection in Nigeria causing imprisonment and worse Corporate strategies involving other countries 8

College of Pediatrics recommended a vaccine schedule in 1989 considered by many insane, a sharp raise in new autism cases resulted across the US, not in other western countries that did not follow the US lead. After the college recommended to reduce the amount of thimerosal in the vaccines in 1999, a sharp drop in new autism cases was observed – There is no autism in the Amish population. There are no vaccinations in the Amish. The only rare cases of autism in the Amish were found in members of the few families that did vaccinate 14

Sources of other toxins in the ASD child: It’s all your mother’s fault www. EWG. org Mothers' Milk: Findings: Levels in U. S. women highest in the world – Between November 2002 and June 2003, EWG recruited 20 healthy, pregnant women from across the country, all of whom were expecting their first child, to participate in a study of fire retardants in breast milk. Participants collected a breast milk sample within several months of the birth of their child and completed an exposure assessment questionnaire that provided information about their lifestyle and home and work environments. Samples were analyzed by a certified laboratory. – The lab found PBDEs in every breast milk sample tested — 35 different PBDEs in all. More significantly, our tests found levels higher than those reported previously for U. S. women, including two of the highest levels of PBDEs ever reported in human beings in the world. Levels ranged from 9. 5 to 1, 078 parts per billion (ppb) in milk fat (lipid), with an average level of 159 ppb, and a median value of 58 ppb. Six of 20 participants had PBDE levels above 100 ppb, with two participants exceeding 700 ppb. The highest PBDE level previously reported in the United States was 580 ppb in maternal blood lipid for a woman in Central Indiana. [45] – The good news: when we put nursing moms on high doses of Bio. Pure chlorella, most toxins disappeared from the breast milk. All were greatly reduced 17

Synergistic factors (factors that increase toxic effects of mercury) – Testosterone • • • Recent testing of male and female ASD clients has revealed abnormally high serum testosterone levels in some children. The recommended use of Lupron to lower the levels has worsened symptoms in some children (this suggests that high testosterone is an adaptive mechanism rather then causative). The Lupron treatment is published by Mark and David Geier. Once every 28 days im injection with depot Lupron. Additional daily injection with small doses to achieve 100 microgram/kg bodyweight/day I use a special preparation of a homeopathic high dilution homaccord of testosterone (Bio. Pure), which lowers testosterone naturally and corrects the unknown underlying reason for the elevation as demonstrated by the frequent improvement in clinical symptoms PC-SPES (several Chinese herbs) has been used successfully to lower testosterone in older male ASD patients. Ground flax seeds (1 -2 tbsp/day) in yogurt or cottage cheese are binding hormone metabolites in the gut (including man-made hormone mimics such as some insecticides) preventing re-absorption and should be added to the diet where appropriate Lavender Oil and Tea tree oil have strong anti-androgenic effects and can be used to lower androgens and elevate estrogens. I recommend using a soap and shampoo containing the 2 oils (Henley et al: Prepubertal gynecomastia linked to lavender and tea tree oils N Engl J Md 2007; 356: 479 -85) 19

Synergistic factors • Zinc has a well documented synergistic toxic effect with mercury (beware of too much zinc!) • All other toxic exposures • Most researched is lead: an LD 1 of lead given to a group of rats (=the dose that is lethal to 1% of the rats in the group) at the same time with an LD 1 of mercury caused the death of all rats (LD 100). In mercury toxicology 1+1=100 • Most environmental toxins (recent papers on PBDEs, Phthalates, Bisphenol A – all in furniture, mattress, toys) • Electrosmog from cell phone and radio/TV broadcasting, chordless phones and from electric wiring in home 20

Genetic polymorphisms and absent genes – Glutathione S-transferases (Type M 1 responsible for detoxifying many environmental toxins. Type T 1: when gene absent, significant more thimerosal damage). • – 50% thimerosal induced increase in gene polymorphisms of genes regulating methylation and related enzymes (COMTor catechol-O-methyl transferase= enzyme responsible for breaking down unneeded neurotransmitters, MTHFR or methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase, MTRR or methionine synthase reductase). Consequence of reduced methylation capacity: reduced DNA methylation, altered activity and function of proteins, altered neurotransmitter function, reduced synthesis of membranephosphatidyl-choline, reduced glutathion levels • – Solution: use homeopathic sulfur (see below) Acetylation genes • – Solution: give Bio. Pure Phospholipid Exchange ½ tbsp/day, use methylated B 12 (chlorella has highest amount found in nature) and methylated folic acid or folinic acid (there is need for hydroxyl-B 12 and folic acid as well), adjust diet frequently using ART testing. Our homeopathic program is handling this issue beautifully (see below) Sulfation genes (i. e: transsulfuration pathway depressed in ASD: low homocysteine, methionine and glutathione) • – Solution: enhance glutathione-SH production and availability: chlorella in high doses, NDF, alpha lipoic acid 25 -50 mg every 6 hours 3 days on, 11 days off, methyl-B 12 shots. Damages caused by Hg injury in ASD children Enzymes, cell wall receptors, barriers and neurons – No researcher ever found any enzyme system in the body that has not been damaged by mercury. We have about 25, 000 genes carrying the building plan for all of our enzyme systems. Together with epigenomic mechanisms each gene controls the manufacture of about 1, 000 different gene variations. Some outcomes of mercury induced damage: • • • Whatever enzyme or system any particular researcher has ever looked at, there was Hgcaused damage. Much of it is reversible for quite some time Damaged blood brain barrier (astrocytes) with secondary toxic insults Defective gut barrier (leaky gut) with rapid food allergy development Developmental delay Changes in “mirror-neurons” of frontal cortex and limbic system Lack of pruning of non-serving dendritic connections Neurotransmitter dysfunction Maladaptation of every system( ie: poor nutritional intake) Blocks PPAR (peroxysome proliferators activator receptor): peroxysomes are cell organelles; they are the “liver” of the cell, responsible both for neutralizing toxic substances and for producing the special thing each cell is about: hormones in the hormone glands, bile in the liver cells, enzymes in the pancreas cells, etc. Recently the drug ACTOS has been used in ASD to increase the amount of peroxysomes produced in the cell. It has been overlooked, that chlorophyll (highest in chlorella) also induces the PPAR very effectively without the high cost and side effects of the medical drug. 23

Damages caused by Hg injury in ASD children (cont. ) Immune system The lack of central intelligent control of the immune system and the damage to aspects of the immune system itself leads to: • defective vigilance and surveillance • failure to recognize self vs. other (mercury induces autoimmunity www. MELISA. org) • Reduced NK cell activity and mobility • inadequate response to invading microbes • failure to recognize microbial molecular mimicry • many other aspects of immune incompetence • this in turn leads to invasion of the system by opportunistic microbes and inability to respond to vaccine induced microbes appropriately 24

The relationship between mercury and microbes – Microbial involvement is compartment specific: those areas contaminated with mercury are most immune compromised (absent immune surveillance in these areas) and become ideal breeding places for invading microbes. Compartmentalized Herpes viruses are known to be responsible for seizure foci in the brain in ASD children – Trying to eliminate the opportunistic microbes before reaching a reasonable degree of toxin elimination in the involved area is not possible – Antibiotic, nutrient and herbal uptake in a toxin contaminated area is only minimal and will ultimately not succeed. – Most important long term strategy: decontaminate the most crucial areas in the CNS before attempting major antimicrobial strategy There is no cure of autism without eliminating the different forms of mercury from most body compartments 28

The relationship of unresolved psycho-emotional issues and mercury toxicity – It is known that Hg deposits are very body compartment specific: in one person it may deposit in the limbic system, in another in the joints or fascia, in another in the kidneys, etc. – We found that tissues that have been traumatized become deposition places – We also found that organs and tissues that hold unresolved emotions become the site of mercury contamination – The Klinghardt axiom (see later) expresses the mathematical relationship between toxins, microbes and unresolved psycho-emotional issues 29

Is it not enough to eliminate the mercury? Mercury is the match that ignited the forest fire (multiple biochemical aberrations). It is not enough to extinguish the match if you want to stop the forest fire – once it is burning. A lot more action on different fronts is needed. – Elimination of all synergistic toxins – Recognition and activation of defective enzyme systems – Identifying and treating the 7 perpetuating factors: 1. 2. 3. 4. food allergies systemic family issues and early psychological/emotional trauma ongoing toxin exposure (mold, carpet floors, etc) unhealed focal areas or interference fields: umbilical scar, circumcision scar, head trauma from birth, chronic intestinal inflammation, tonsil infection 5. geopathically disturbed sleeping location and electro-smog 6. defective dentition and facial development of head/neck/jaw structure 7. persistent chronic stealth infection 30

1. The non toxic home: what’s the problem? – We found that most US children grow up in homes that are toxic or electromagnetically contaminated – The US is a leader in sacrificing generations of its own children in the name of corporate wealth and health: in well informed circles it is now known that only one in 10 children is medically (asthma, obesity, fatigue), neurologically (hyperactivity, dyslexia, ASD, etc. ) and psychologically (depression, socially inapt, etc. ) healthy at age 6 (entry into public school system). The numbers have increased exponentially in recent years. In Germany it is one in 4 children who are still healthy at that age. Recent literature review showed that the incidence of ASD had increased from 0. 4 children pr 1000 in 1985 to 1 in 150 children in 2000 with the highest number (nearly 1 in 100) in New Jersey. – In adults present with loss of: zest, short term memory, creativity, sex drive and potency. Also: insomnia, fatigue, dulling of the senses. Dramatic increase of neurological and psychiatric illness – Our own findings relate over 90% of these illnesses to the synergistic effect of FM, low frequency and microwave radiation and the interaction with mold/yeast, heavy metal toxicity and chronic bacterial infections (Lyme, strep, mycoplasma, chlamydia) 32

EMF: Microwave – Cell phone radiation from base station (affects blood brain barrier in 1. 6 mile radius) – Wireless internet, WLAN, etc. – Blue Tooth technology – Some home alarm systems – Known medical effects: increases cancer rate 3 fold in 10 years after cell phone radiation is brought into a community - after a 5 year incubation period. Severe EEG, HRV and EKG changes, delayed and disturbed brain development in infants, decreased melatonin and hormone production, open blood brain barrier with increased toxicity, affects endothelial cells in gut mucosa and endothelium (dysfunctional), responsible for illness and death of trees, 35

1. EMF: Electro smog reduces melatonin production in the pineal gland. Why is this bad? – 1. Melatonin induces sleep. We only heal and detoxify in deep non-rem sleep. Without melatonin no regeneration and no detoxification – 2. EMF: Is everyone affected? – Bodyweight, body-mass index, bone density etc alter the conductivity and receptivity of the organism – Water and electrolyte content alter the antenna function of the organism (dehydration is protective and therefore most often adaptive!) – Touching the earth and spending time in healthy fields (i. e. old growth forest) discharges static electricity and restores normal electric tissue properties – Heavy metal deposits in brain and CNS act as micro-antennae (Y. Omura), concentrate EMF-radiation into the brain and increase reception – Dental metal restorations increase reception for both radio waves, micro current from cell phone broadcasting and from all ambient fields – Genes regulate the metal detoxifying enzymes and can predetermine people to be electro-sensitive – Any loss of myelin (=insulation) increases reception (MS, Lyme, other demyelinating illnesses and auto-immune processes) – Synergistic effect between geopathic earth radiation, metallic objects in home (mattress, artwork, frames), electric and magnetic fields from appliances and household current and incoming microwave from cell phone 37

EMF: Diagnosis – Appropriate electronic instruments (very objective, but cannot predict the biological effect on the particular individual) call Institute for Building Biology (Vicky Warren) in Florida for referral – 2. 1. EMF: Simple ways to help yourself and your willing neighbor – Your system is by the factor of hundreds of times more sensitive during sleep. Most suggestions are based on this simple fact – shut off all fuses at night. Buy a flashlight. Better: have a “demand switch” installed by knowledgeable electrician (rare to find). Move children’s bed away from wall (3 feet) – Get rid of cordless phones at home and get chorded phone (Radio Shack) – Use PC rather then laptop whenever possible. Have “box” as far away from chair as possible (best: outside, since computers outgas Beryllium, mercury, lead and PBDEs – No wireless internet at home or in office – Use metallized grounding sheet under regular bed sheet with ground wire either in earth (best) or attached to metal-waterpipe (not the ground in electric outlet, since most often 60 Hz flicker on it) Biopure. US@aol. com – In most cases: install metallized mosquito net (“Baldachin”) to deflect incoming microwave. In office, or if possible at home: use metallized paint or conductive Silica-paint on walls – Have experienced ART practitioner or Building-Biology expert check home for geopathic radiation and move bed location or work-site accordingly – If you are chronically unwell or have a diagnosed medical illness and you have not responded to treatment, assume that electrosmog is keeping you from getting well. 1. EMF: What to do? Tips for parents and children – If you do not absolutely have to use a cell phone, get rid of it. Making monthly payments drives the industry and leads to the instillation of more broadcasting panels in your neighborhood – If you continue using a cell phone, get ear piece with air conduction – Absolutely metal free mattress and bed-frame – Un-clutter the bedroom – Use melatonin at bedtime (best: sublingual) – No wrist watch, no metal jewelry, no metal zippers or belt buckles – Avoid living in apartments (neighbor above, below or next door may have wireless or cordless phone) or working in office buildings – 10 minute earth-hole meditation at end of workday – Avoid new cars (phthalates, EMF pollution) – Metal free dentistry – Work a life-long metal detox program – Avoid electrical appliances (hair dryer, electric razor, computer) – Spend less time on computer. Get a life! – Follow all these recommendations and teach them to your children, parents and friends 40

1. Toxins in the home Thesis: in the presence of Hg toxicity even smallest amounts of other toxins can have a devastating synergistic effect. These toxins are the last straw that broke the camels back, not the primary cause • Every parent of an autistic child should be asked to organize an “indoor air quality inspection” by an expert in the field. Often we find significant mold levels in homes, insufficient ventilation, polluted crawling spaces that leak toxic gases into the indoor environment, outgasing of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from carpet floors or toxic building materials and many other problems that have synergistic effects with mercury in the brain. We also saw children becoming ill after the neighborhood was sprayed by government licensed pest control efforts or after the toddler/childcare facility was re-carpeted or started using TV dinners for the children which were microwaved in their respective plastic containers • Phthalates and Bisphenol A (plastic softeners) and PBDEs (flame retardants): trans-placental transport from mother to fetus and poisoning via breast milk are worst in the US but increasing world wide (www. 1. Mold – Molds are spore forming organisms. Taskinen et al. ; Allergy, 57: 9 -16, 2002 – Background: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate mould-specific immunoglobulin G (Ig. G) antibodies in children exposed to moisture and mould problems in their school, and the association between Ig. G antibodies and mould allergy, active or passive smoking and respiratory symptoms. – Methods: Ig. G antibodies were studied to 24 moulds in 93 children from three moisture problem schools and in 33 children from a reference school. The antibodies were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and compared to positive adult sera. – Conclusions: Allergy was, but asthma was not, associated with Ig. G antibodies to the moulds that can be found in moisture damaged buildings. However, no association was found between Ig. G antibodies to moulds and exposure to moisture and moulds in school. 43

Barnes et al. ; Ann Allergy Asthma Immunol, 89(1): 29 -33, July 2002 – Results: Enzyme immunoassay indicated 65 of 132 (49. 2%) sera tested contained Ig. G against S. chartarum and 13 of 139 (9. 4%) sera tested contained Ig. E against S. chartarum. Pooled sera identified two Ig. E-binding proteins from extracts of S. chartarum spores and mycelia. Da by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis immunoblot. – Conclusions: We conclude sensitivity to S. chartarum is potentially much more widespread than previously appreciated. 1. Mold: Lipoic acid as a potential first agent for protection from mycotoxins and treatment of mycotoxicosis. S. A. Rogers; Arch Environ Health, 58(8): 528 -532, August 2003 Mycotoxins - toxic substances produced by fungi or molds - are ubiquitous in the environment and are capable of damaging multiple biochemical mechanisms, resulting in a variety of human symptoms referred to collectively as “mycotoxicosis. ” In fact, mycotoxins mimic multiple xenobiotics, not only with respect to their ultimate damage, but also in their routes of detoxification. This suggests potential therapeutic options for the challenging treatment of mycotoxicosis. In this brief review, the author examines the use of lipoic acid as an example of an inexpensive and available nutrient that has been shown to protect against, or reverse, the adverse effects of mycotoxins. Sulfhydryl-reacting compounds such as acetaldehyde decrease TER through covalent modification of Cys 215 of PTP. We propose that the toxicity of patulin for intestinal cells involves, among other potential mechanisms, an inactivation of the active site of PTP. 47

However, unresolved psycho-emotional material is an important synergistic factor in mercury toxicity. The Klinghardt Axiom: for each unresolved trauma or conflict the body stores an aliquot of physical toxins. Component#2: The Psyche Thesis: toxic metals accumulate in body compartments that are overstimulated (even in the next generation) or overactive – In athletes with dilatatory cardiomyopathy, Hg- increases in the heart-muscle of over 20 000 times have been found – We found in functional MRIs and PET scans accumulations of Hg in the limbic system after clients had gone through major psychological stress (divorce, loss of a loved one) – The moms and dads of ASD children are often very intelligent and mentally active. This seems to predispose the child to Hg toxicity in the brain. It may be advantageous to the children if the parents seek growth and development equally on all 3 levels: the mind, the body and the “heart” – In Holocaust survivors it was found that the stress levels in the brain continued over 3 generations, even if the grandchild did not have any information about the past of the family. We found high levels of toxins in the brain of these clients. After re-connecting with the ancestors and resolving their issues, the stress levels in the offspring dropped significantly (HRV) and detox of the brain became elegant and easy 53

3. Neuro-Sensory Development The brain develops and heals under the influence of the information-input via the nervous system. Gentle stimulation of the sensory nerves is the most important part of the healing of the brain. Best time: earlier is better - but child may not be ready to participate. We regularly use: • color therapy (see Bio. Pure workshop DVDs 2002) via the eyes (Am. College of Syntonic Optometry) and on the body (Dinshaw method). Ideal: Chroma Light Activator (Bio. 4. Diet, nutrition and supplements What to eat and what not to eat Testing • ART testing for all foods. Should be done once/month to adjust for rapid changes as child improves. I know how difficult it is already to feed a healthy child. Feeding an ill child and having lots of food restrictions can be a nightmare. Stretch and try your best. And: compromise. Don’t drive yourself nuts. • Food allergies and sensitivities change rapidly in the ASD child, especially during Hg detox. We use ART (or EAV) as a fast low cost predictor of the most suitable food at this particular time. 4. Supplements Vitamin B 6 • At least 21 papers show benefits in autism when given in high doses: 300 -500 mg/day or 30 mg/kg/day as pyridoxal-HCL. I like to do a 6 week trial. If client has no beneficial response during that time I continue to give closer to normal doses for the entire length of treatment time. Vitamin B 6 (Bernard Rimland: “Autism Research Review International” Vol 1, No 4, 1987) Given as P-5 -P higher doses are needed, but better response in seizure treatment. Best tested with ART. Add low dose B complex • Seizure control: i. v. starting dose of Pyridoxal phosphate (PLP): 10 mg/kg followed by 10 mg/kg in 4 divided doses per day till stable. If recurrence within 24 hours, give single dose of 40 mg/kg and follow with 50 mg/kg/day in 4 divided doses till stable, then switch to oral PLP, 30 mg/kg/day (7 -50 mg) or pyridoxine HCL (if reponsive, lesser dose needed around 18 mg/kg/day). Pietz used higher doses of up to 300 mg B 6/kg/day Wang HS: Pyridoxal phosphate is better then pyridoxine for controlling idiopathic intractable epilepsy. Arch Dis Child. 2005: 512 -515 • Also effective for asthma and some psychiatric symptoms 61

Supplements Vitamin B 6 When using B 6 approach, obligatory: • • Magnesium Citrate : 400 mg /day or at least 25% of mg dose of B 6 or at least 10 mg/kg body weight Zinc ( I only recommend low dose supplementation because of synergistic effect with mercury). Always use some copper when using zinc long term. Copper is needed to fight infections. Recent copper-phobia based on misunderstanding of hair and element analysis (copper used up by immune system appears displaced in hair and aging red cells). I like transdermal zinc delivery B-6 overdose is rare but has to be recognized when not using ART testing. Leads to reversible neuropathy recognized by: • Child shakes hands as if to get circulation back • difficulty picking up objects such as foods • difficulty walking because of numbness on bottom of feet 62

The brain is starved for folate. Take with meals! • B 12 and folic acid: there have been misunderstandings regarding B 12 and folic acid. Dana Gorman (and us) find that giving - in addition to folinic acid and MTHF - also folic acid in combination with hydroxy-B 12 (5: 2 ratio) helpful when given at the same time sublingually several times/day. This combination has been found to de-methylate toxins (and makes them more easily processed) and can be very effective for stims, tantrums and any daily acute crisis (melanie@amtrx. com). It is best to use ART testing to find which form of folic acid is the right form for this particular patient today • • Folic acid: de-methylates toxic substances , anti-viral effect for HPV Hydroy-B 12: has been found to remove toxic nitric oxide compounds from brain 65

Use as TD cream, since it can be applied while child is sleeping Blue light: if hyperactivity is part of the picture, wearing blue glasses or using a blue lightbulb (with the Dinshah method or simply in the light fixture in the child’s primary room) Melatonin: the research by Russel Reiter Ph. D (Journal of Pineal Research) clearly shows that melatonin is the most powerful neuroprotective antioxidant in the CNS. It protects from mercury induced damage. In US children the pineal gland is severely compromised in it’s ability to produce melatonin: fluoride in drinking water, tooth paste and from dental treatment has high affinity for the pineal gland calcifies it (research by Jennifer Luke DDS). Melatonin helps to remove Hg from the brain in conjunction with other detoxifying agents and has been underutilized in ASD children. Give up to 10 mg 2 hrs before bedtime and up to 2 mg every 4 -6 hrs during the day. Absorption rates vary! Transdermal delivery has helped many kids. 68

The prevalence of HP users was 44. 8%. My teacher in homeopathy, the late Gerhard Koehler MD, Ph. D made a simple observation. – There are 3 types of healing agents and methods: • Suppression therapies: anti-inflammatories, anti-biotics, anti-fungals, anti-tumor agents, etc • Substitution therapies: insulin, thyroid hormone, minerals, etc • Regulation therapies: homeopathy, herbs, neural therapy, acupuncture – Illnesses can only be lastingly healed, if the self-regulation of the system is fully restored and fully functional. Liquids (water alone, or water plus alcohol or saline or minerals) – Advantage: holds the energy very strongly for up to hundreds of years – Disadvantage: • • When kept in plastic bottles, becomes contaminated with Phthalates, Bisphenol A and Dioxin. More expensive to mail then pills. When alcohol is used, may interfere with religious beliefs (people that have succeeded in AA) or belief that it may cause growth of intestinal yeast. Some folks have a true alcohol allergy. When no alcohol is used, bacterial or yeast growth may occur over time depending on source of material. No difference in the different solutions regarding how long information is stored. Heel offers multiple dose bottles in water/alcohol base (35 Vol % ethyl alcohol) and oral sips (“single-dose-vials”) which are water or saline based without alcohol. The single dose vials are approved in Germany and most civilized countries for injection in humans and animals. In the US injection of these remedies would constitute an “off-label” use. 116

The use of Heel remedies in ASD – Only the oral sips are universally acceptable and ideal for all ASD patients (see previous) – Some important remedies are only available as alcoholic tincture or lactose based tablets (advantages have to be weighed carefully) – Use 20 minutes away from all food or drinks. If different homeopathic remedies are given orally at the same time, separate by 30 seconds – All available remedies have their appropriate place and time in the management of the typical ASD patient – I will give “recipes” from my office which have often been very helpful and are filling an important, but often overlooked, therapeutic gap 119

How to target different tissues or body compartment? Homeopathics act most strongly on the germinal layer or in the system where they are introduced – Skin and brain are derived from ectoderm, the same embryonic layer. To reach the brain, the most profound effect is achieved by injecting the remedy into the surface 2 mm layer of the skin or using a transdermal cream (such as TD-DMPS). Sniffing (or dropping) the remedy up the nose (olfactory nerve and parasympathetic nerves connected to brain) is also effective. Example: Thalamus comp – If the Endoderm is to be reached (gut and appendages) it is best to swallow the medicine Example: Nux vomica Homaccord – If the mucous membranes are to be reached it is best to introduce the remedy simply into the oral mucosa (“sublingual application”) Example: Mucosa comp – If the lymph nodes of the intestinal tract are targeted, it is best to inject the remedy into the tonsils which govern the GALT (gut associated lymphatic tissue) Example: Lymphomyosot – If the Lymph nodes of the mediastinum are targeted (ie in asthma), the first “respiratory” lymph node group should be injected: the adenoids, Every application outside this system is less effective, but often the next best choice. The proper applications are taught in the courses of the Amercian Academy of Neural Therapy. Most US practitioners use homeopathics only orally with some results. 121

Autistic Spectrum Disorders: Basic Homeopathic Support Program General remarks: – Since most clinical tips here are recommending the use of the “single dose vials” and this paper is intended for both the European community and the US health care providers, the following instructions are generally to be followed. Notice, that the doses I recommend in ASD are much lower then the doses suggested for use in the general population (decreased ability to process and excrete mobilized toxins). They might be increased to the doses recommended in other writings as the patient improves. 122

Practitioners outside the US (Lymphomyosot, Traumeel and Engystol are currently approved by the FDA in the US for injection also): – Inject 1 amp once weekly i. c, s. c, i. m. , i. a. or i. v – Or follow specific neural therapy recommendations for: • intra-cutaneous use when treating brain and skin • subcutaneous use when addressing matrix of ground system/extracellular space • special injection techniques into acupuncture points, ganglia and glands when targeting the ANS or hormone system 123

US Practitioners: Some Heel oral sips contain 1. 1 ml, others 2. 2 ml of remedy – Draw up the content of 1 -2 vials with 21 g 1” needle into a 3 ml syringe (best: glass syringe) – squirt into small dropper bottle. Use 10 drops once daily, 5 days on, 2 days off (give entire left-over amount from dropper bottle on day 5). – If the bottle appears empty before day 5, fill up dropper bottle with filtered water, tap 50 times and keep using as before till day 5 (the residues on the glass-wall are enough to create an LM potency of the medicine which enhances the effect in an often almost magical way). – Keep the remedies initially in separate dropper bottles to be able to experiment with dosages/frequency of application (exactly as you already experiment with your vitamins and medications). – Later: remedies which are taken in the same pattern can be mixed together and a bottle can be prepared with a 1 -week supply.
