Abstract The given thesis paper deals with the problem of social conflict’s influence on the tourism sphere development in the South of Russia. This issue is of the highest importance for the indicated region, as tourism is one of the most profitable and perspective resources for the Southern Region. However, because of the incessant conflicts there, the tourist inflow is cut down by implication and it is of vital importance to figure out ways to control and correct the situation. The basic research method used in this paper is the comparative method of research within the framework of communicative studies. Using this method we have determined the ways in which conflicts affect the indicated sphere in the South of Russia and found out that the mass media are the source capable of controlling social conflict. Consequently, we have created a pattern of Mass Media’s conduct in the context of a social conflict. The cultivated plan provides recommendations for various Mass Media on how to act and how to present news about the conflict situation in the region in general and how to present this or that concrete conflict situation.
