A city in great Britain, in the County of Merseyside, a port on the Northwest coast of England, at the mouth of the river Mersey .
The City of Liverpool is governed by the Directly elected mayor of Liverpool and Liverpool City Council, and is one of five metropolitan boroughs that combine to make up the metropolitan county of Merseyside. The Mayor is elected by the citizens of Liverpool every four years and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the council.

"THE THREE GRACES" One of the most famous locations in Liverpool is the Pier Head, renowned for the trio of buildings – the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building – which sit upon it. Collectively referred to as the Three Graces, these buildings stand as a testament to the great wealth in the city during the late 19 th and early 20 th century. Built in a variety of architectural styles, they are recognised as being the symbol of Maritime Liverpool, and are regarded by many as contributing to one of the most impressive waterfronts in the world
THE BEATLES Liverpool is internationally known for music and is recognised by Guinness World Records as the World Capital City of Pop. Liverpool is most famous as the birthplace of The Beatles and during the 1960 s was at the forefront of the Beat Music movement, which would eventually lead to the British Invasion. The Beatles were an English rock band that formed in Liverpool in 1960. With members John Lennon, Paul Mc. Cartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era
