Whose postcard is this? /′pəustka: d/ This is Millie’s. /bi′lɔŋ/ = This postcard belongs to Millie. Does it belong to Daniel? No, it doesn’t. It isn’t Danie’s. v. 属于

Whose key ring is this? /ki: //riŋ/ This is my cousin’s. = This key ring belongs to my cousin. Does it belong to Millie? No, it doesn’t. It isn’t Millie’s.

Whose bag is this? This is my mother’s. = This bag belongs to my mother. Does it belong to Sandy? No, it doesn’t. It isn’t Sandy’s.

Conclusion：We add ’s to a singular noun to show that something belongs to someone. 在单数名词后面加上’s 表示某物属于某人 e. g Millie’s home is on the ninth floor.

Simon lives in the tall building. Daniel lives in the tall building, too. The two students’ _____(student) homes are in the same building. The tenth of September is Teachers’ Day.

Conclusion：We add ’ to a plural noun ending in “s”. 在以“s”结尾的复数名词后面加’

Conclusion：在不以s结尾的复数名词末尾加’s表示所有格 e. g. children’s men’s people’s women’s

Conclusion： 1. 表示A, B两个人共有，用A+B’s（一般情况用单数名词） 2. 表示A和B两个人分别拥有的，用A’s+B’s（后一般情况加复数名词）
