We all want take knowledge and direction in our lives; achieve great success and being happy. But unfortunately so many people seem to be lost and do not know what they want to accomplish in life. They simply live day after day going nowhere. We can say they go to a treasure hunt, but without a map that can guide them (Science of Success). In November, 1975, 75 convicts started digging a secret tunnel designed to bring them up at the other side of the wall of Saltillo Prison in northern Mexico. On April 18, 1976, guided by pure genius, they tunnelled up into the nearby courtroom in which many of them had been sentenced. The surprised judges returned all 75 to jail. And the Canaanites were then in the land. 7 Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants ( זרע zera) I will give this land. ” And there he built an altar (Zavah - to slaughter for sacrifice) to the LORD, who had appeared to him. 8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel (house of God), and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai (city of ruins) on the east; there he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD. 9 So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South. The word El is a generic name for "god" in Northwest Semitic (Hebrew and Ugaritic) and as such it is also used in the Old Testament for heathen deities or idols (Ex. 34: 14; Ps. 81: 10; Is. 44: 10) (from the root "to be strong, powerful" ('wl), meaning "The Strong (or Powerful) One. “). In Canaanite paganism the El, was the head of the pantheon. As the god, El was a dim and shadowy figure. El was considered the exalted "father of years" (abushanima), the "father of man" (abuadami), and "father bull", that is, the progenitor of the gods, tacitly likened to a bull in the midst of a herd of cows. Idol worship in groves of sacred oaks 2 Chronicles 28: 1 -5 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD. 2 He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and also made cast idols for worshiping the Baals. 3 He burned sacrifices in the Valley of Ben Hinnom and sacrificed his sons in the fire, following the detestable ways of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. 4 He offered sacrifices and burned incense at the high places, on the hilltops and under every spreading tree. 5 Therefore the LORD his God handed him over to the king of Aram. The Arameans defeated him and took many of his people as prisoners and brought them to Damascus. He was also given into the hands of the king of Israel, who inflicted heavy casualties on him. Isaiah 1: 29 (NLT) You will be ashamed of your idol worship in groves of sacred oaks. You will blush because you worshiped in gardens dedicated to idols.

Genesis 12: 10 -20 (NKJV) Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land. 11 And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife (67 years old), “Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful countenance. 12 Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say, ‘This is his wife’; and they will kill me, but they will let you live. 13 Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you. ” 14 So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful. 15 The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house. 16 He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels. 17 But the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife. 18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife? 19 Why did you say, ‘She is my sister’? I might have taken her as my wife. Now therefore, here is your wife; take her and go your way. ” 20 So Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they sent him away, with his wife and all that he had.

Abraham's plan works, but with consequences: - Not only is his life spared, Abraham is treated well and given gifts by Egypt's Pharaoh (Amenemhat II) when the ruler brings Sarah to his house. - God, however, brings plagues to Pharaoh and his house because of Sarah. - Abraham and family leave Egypt and go back to the land of Canaan
