• The story of the coming Redeemer and God’s redemption is theme of the Old Testament. (Gen. 3: 15; Gen. 12: 3; Gal. 3: 8, 28; 2 Sam. 7: 1213; etc. ) • The Old Testament indicates that through Jesus a new covenant would come. • THE LAW WAS GIVEN ONLY TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (Deut. 4: 44, 5: 2, Rom. 9: 4) • THE LAW OF MOSES, INCLUDING THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, WAS NOT GIVEN TO PREVIOUS GENERATIONS (Deut. 5: 2 -3) • THE LAW WAS NOT INTENDED FOR OTHER NATIONS (Deut. 4: 7 -8) • THE LAW WAS NOT GIVEN TO THE GENTILES (Rom. 2: 14; Eph. 2: 12 -13) • THE LAW WAS DESIGNED TO POINT OUT SIN AND POINT MEN TO THE SAVIOR (Rom. 7: 7, 3: 20; Gal. 3: 23 -25) 3/15/2018 THE NATURE OF THE LAW OF MOSES 4
