People cannot live without music. They can listen to music everywhere even in the forest, when they walk and hear birds singing. Music can be classical and modern. Classical music is performed by symphonic orchestras in the great halls. There a lot of famous composers whose music is played nowadays. Classical music is serious and requires good understanding or it may seem to be boring and dull. Most people prefer modern music. Modern music is performed by TV and radio

Modern music has different kinds: pop, rock, disco, rap, techno and others. Young people like techno and disco. Older people are fond of jazz, rock and pop. There a lot of singers or music bands who perform this or that kind of music Everybody knows the founders of rock music. They are the “Beatles” and Elvis Presley. Now there a lot of discs and records of different performers. The last achievement in music production is a clip. Musical clips are short films accompanied by the melody.

My favorite singer is Corey Taylor Corey Todd Taylor (born December 8, 1973) is an American musician, author, and actor, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the heavy metal band Slipknot and hard rock/alternative metal band Stone Sour. Taylor is a founding member of Stone Sour, and has released five studio albums with that band. Taylor joined Slipknot in 1997 to replace their original vocalist. He has released five studio albums with them. Taylor was ranked number 86 in Hit Parader's Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time. He was also named 7 th greatest heavy metal frontman by NME. Taylor was also found, by VVN Music, to possess the second-highest vocal range of any known singer in popular music with a range of 5 and a half octaves. He was beaten only by Mike Patton (6 octaves).

Music career. Slipknot. Main article: Slipknot (band) Taylor performing with Slipknot in 2011. In Des Moines, Iowa, Joey Jordison, Shawn Crahan, and Mick Thomson approached him asking him to join Slipknot. He agreed to go to one of their practices, and ended up singing in front of them. Of Slipknot's nine members, Corey was the sixth to join the band. Performing with Slipknot, he would also come to be known as "Number Eight", being that the band follows a numbering scheme for its members, ranging from 0– 8. According to Shawn Crahan, Corey wanted number eight, because it symbolizes infinity.
