. ב-31 באפריל 7002 המטירו העננים בעוז מעל המדבר נחל פרס זרם בשצף קצף, והמפל הגדול שלו הפך לתפאורה לא רעה לתה של אחר-הצהרים April 13 th 2007 was a stormy day in the desert. Wadi Peres was flash-flooded, and its huge waterfall became a pretty background for an afternoon tea

But as we advanced further down the wadi, we noticed the absence of the waterholes that once decorated the gorge , ואולם, ככל שהתקדם הטיול במורד הנחל התגברה תחושה מוזרה. היכן גבי המים ? שהיו סימן ההיכר של מעוק הנחל

A thorough investigation was a must. We returned to the wadi, a week after, equipped with photos from the same place taken exactly three years before. זהו כוחם של המים, אשר גם במדבר הצחיח מצליחים לשנות סדרי עולם תוך שלוש שנים. לא בטוח שהזזת הבולדרים וסתימת המעוק בטונות של סחף התרחשו דווקא בשיטפון של אפריל 7002. במשך שלוש השנים אירעו מספר אירועי זרימה בנחל, ביניהם ב-92 באוקטובר 4002. באותו אירוע ירדו כמויות נדירות של משקעים, שעיצבו מחדש את אפיקי דרום מדבר יהודה וצפון הנגב. אבל כפי שניתן לראות בתמונה זו, הסחף כבר להתפנות. . . מתחיל . This is an example of the power of water It is unclear whether the movement of boulders and massive alluvium coverage , occurred in April 2007 or in other events such as the huge flash flood following the October 29 th 2004 torrential rains in southern Judean Desert and the northern , Negev. But as you can see in this picture the alluvium is already being carried … away
