What is pneumonia? Pneumonia is an infection of the lung that can be caused by nearly any class of organism known to cause human infections. These include bacteria, amoebae, viruses, fungi and parasites.
Symptoms: Fever; Cyanosis of the face; Abnormal respiration; Occlusion of bronchioles and alveoli; Cough
Cough is one of the symptoms of lobular pneumonia

Fever had an irregular course and the temperature changes were caused by the appearance of the new foci of inflammation in the pulmonary tissue. Fever had been persisting for two weeks and had been decreasing gradually.
The patient`s breathing was rapid with 30 -40 respirations per minute, with the accompanying bronchitis, decreas e in the respiratory surface.
The patient complained of: A general malaise On deep breathing Cough with purulent sputum The pain in the chest A slight fatigue, etc.
The examination of the lungs:
Auscultation
Urinalysis Blood Laboratory studies
The blood analysis: Revealed leucocytosis in the range of 12. 000 to 15. 000 per cu mm of blood an accelerated ESR.
The urine analysis: The urine contained a small amount of protein and erythrocytes.
The X-ray examination: ØRevealed numerous foci of inflammation of various size Øshadow; Øthe enlargement of the lymphatic glands
Irregular form `s:
Its Treatment: On the first day of the disease the patient was administered a 2 gr dose of norsulphazol which was followed by a 1 gr dose every 4 hours during that day. Cough and chest pain were relived by the administration of codein, cough mixture, cups and other necessary procedures.
