不定冠词a, an • 主要用法： • 1. 用来表示一类人或事物，如：She is a teacher. • 2. 指某一类人或事物中的一个，如：An elephant is bigger than a horse. • 3. 泛指某一人或事物，如：A man is waiting for you at the school gate. • 4. 相当于“one”的概念，如：I just bought a new dictionary. • 5. 其主要的难点是用在固定词组中： • 如：have a walk/a rest /a look in a hurry 匆匆忙忙 • make a face 作鬼脸 do sb a favour 帮某人忙 • a number of =many have a good time (玩得好) • have a cold (感冒) have a headache (头痛) • have a break=have a rest等
二、不定冠词a, an的辨析 • 1、不定冠词a, an • a用在辅音音素开头的词前 eg. a book • a useful book a “u” • [ju: sful] [ju: ] • an用于元音开头的词前. eg. an apple • an hour an “F” • [au] [ef]
三、定冠词the • • 1)特指某人/某物 The book on the desk is mine. 2)世上独一无二的事物前 the sun , the moon, the earth, the sky 3)形、副最高级及序数词前 The third boy is the tallest of all. (但当这些词前已有其他限定词，如物主代词、所 有格、指示代词时，则不能再用the) • He is my first English teacher. • 4)the + 姓的复数表示 “某家人”或“某夫妇”。 the Greens 格林一家/ 格林夫妇
5）上文已提过的人、物前 6）西洋乐器前 play the piano, play the drum 7）方位词前 on the left/right, in the east/west/south/north 8）某些形容词前，指某一类人 the old, the fat 9）专有名词前 the Great Wall, the Yellow River 10）固定词组 in the morning
四、不用冠词的情况 • 1、(1) 名词前已有指示代词，(this, that, these, those) • e. g. This is my pen. • • (2) 形容词性物主代词(my, his, our等） e. g. Do you like that boat? • • (3) 名词所有格 e. g. They are Rose’s books.
2. 语言，学科，三餐，球类，棋类前 3 星期，月份，季节，节日前 4 人名，国名前 注意，the US, the UK除外 5 固定词组, e. g. by bike
