READ TEXTS AND GUESS WHAT THE QUESTIONS WERE 1. The ecological situation in Ukraine is not very safe. Pollution in some industrial towns is high. Some parts of Ukraine were badly influenced by radiation from Chornobyl in 1986. In many places wild life is in danger. Anyhow, more and more people are beginning to realize that a clean environment is extremely important. Ecological education has found is way to schools. We all hope that the situation will soon become better.
• 2. Perhaps the greatest Ukrainian love is uzvar. It is often drunk with baked bread or sweet bread so called as kalach. It is made of fresh or dry fruit. It’s very tasty. Sometimes people drink tea with lemon or coffee.
• 3. Usually tourists buy such traditional Ukrainian souvenirs as Pysanka, Easter eggs. Those who have more money buy art books, embroidered towels, embroidered shirts and pottery things. Some tourists are interested in national costumes and straw-hats.
• 4. The main dishes of the traditional menu are dumplings, cabbage rolls, redbeetrootsoup. The Ukrainian national food is salo as well. Ukrainians like white bread with nearly every meal.
• 5. Many Ukrainians are religious. The main religious is Christian of different denominations: Orthodox, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic and Jews, Muslims and others. The religion survived during the hard times. New churches and cathedrals are built every year, old ones are restored.
