Things to Do in Estonia Form 7 Unit 13
1 Climb St Olaf´s church tower in Tallinn, see the view in front of you.
2 Sit by the statue of kissing students in the Town hall Square in Tartu and watch the people go by.
3 Find out about the White Lady of Haapsalu castle; then go and explore!
4 Walk along the Jänese footpath beside the River Emajõgi. Ona hot day have a quick swim. Lie on the riverbank to dry off, close your eyes and listen to the sounds of the bords and passing boats.
5 Go to Narva, look at the two castles; compare them with the picture on the five -kroon note.
6 Cross-country ski on a sunny winter´s day.
7 Have a walk in the forest. Pick and eat wild berries fresh from the bush.
8 Go to an Estonian souvenir shop, smell the juniper and wool, and enjoy looking at all the beautiful things.
9 Count as many storks´nests as you can on a long car journey.
10 Look for fossils on Saaremaa´s limestone beaches. Please remember that you are not allowed to collect them.
12 Walk along the coast from Pirita to Tallinn´s Old Town. Enjoy the view.
12 Explore the caves at Piusa, where thousands of bats travel to hibernate every autumn.
13 On a beautiful summer´s day find a quiet place in the countryside and just listen to the sound of the insects, smell of the flowers, and feel the sun on your face – lovely!
14 Visit the land of the Seto people. Listen to some of their interesting music.
15 Have a smoke sauna: enjoy getting dirty!
16 Canoe along the Ahja river to Taevaskoja. Enjoy the spectacular sandstone bank and the dark spruce forests high above.
17 Have an evening swim in the lake at Laiuse; enjoy the summer light as it falls over the castle ruins.
18 Buy some fresh rye bread, from the windmill at Eemu (just before the bridge, on the way from Muhu to Saaremaa). Eat it warm out of the brown paper bag.
19 Go bog-walking in Soomaa National Park. Climb a look-out-tower to get a better view.
20 Try to speak a sentence in Estonian so that Estonians will understand you.
