 •   My great-grandfather Lisenko Vladimir Ivanovich was born on October 11 th, 1925 • My great-grandfather Lisenko Vladimir Ivanovich was born on October 11 th, 1925 in village Novo-Poltava, Poltava province. • In 1934 his family and fellow villagers fleeing from crop failure and famine moved to Russia. They found their shelter in Vorontsovo-Alexander borough which is part of Stavropol region. In the end of November 1943 he was conscripted and sent to the training battalion. In the end of May 1944 he, composed of 54 special searchlight regiment, got to the front. Later on he participated in the battles for the Crimean peninsula village Dzhankoi to the specifics of such regiment. Due to the specifics of such regiment, they always were a good target for Germans aviation. So, during the crossing a river near one of the villages, they were massively attacked by enemies aviation. My great-grandfather was wounded and afterwards evacuated to the fieldhospital. In September 1944, due to the conclusion of medical board, he was relocated to the 106 reserve infantry regiment.

People don’t live eternally, but however we have reminiscences about their feat in our hearts and we have to give our knowledge to the future generation.
