Course Aims The Research Methods module introduces students to a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods commonly used in the business studies. Students explore the appropriate use of different research methods according to subject and evaluate the reliability of data and the validity of the results of research.

Course Aims This course has multiple aims: • To help you to choose appropriate research design and methods to investigate a business research question • To expose you to a limited range of quantitative and qualitative research methods • To develop a critical understanding of empirical research • To facilitate the design and completion of the Independent Research Paper.

Course Aims The primary aim of the module is to establish a basic understanding of both quantitative and qualitative methods which will enable students to critically evaluate research as well as providing the main tools for students to be able to undertake their own research. The module seeks to stimulate an appreciation of the link between research methods, data and analysis and to demonstrate the importance of applying an appropriate method of data collection and analysis according to the nature of the research.

Grading Criteria a) Attendance and participation – 4 points b) There will be 4 quizzes during the course – 16 points b) 1 Midterm you must write Individual Research Paper (500 -700 words) – 20 points c) 2 Midterm you must write Individual Research Proposal (1200 -1500 words) – 20 points d) Final exam will be held in Test style - 40 points TOTAL: 100 points
