NATIONAL TRADITIONS AND CUSTOMS OF MY REGION Student: Sapojnikova P. Teacher: Churakova T. G. Shumikha, 2016 Secondary comprehensive school №
Our country marks one of the biggest national holiday. It’s the Day of People’s Unity. It is celebrated by the country and every person in our country is proud of it. My district isn’t exception. During this day every school has concerts, exhibitions and different events. Also there are concerts in our District House of Culture, museum, libraries.
Of course, my town isn’t exception too. All public buildings such as schools, libraries and especially museums are involved in celebrating this holiday as well as our multinational population. There are 93% of Russians, 3% of Tatars and 1% of the Bashkir in our district. Our local museum takes part in celebrating different holidays. The Day of People’s Unity is celebrated on a grand scale. There are exhibitions of national meals, national costumes, singing and dancing performances during this day.
One of the most colorful event which marks the Day of People’s Unity is People’s Friendship (Druzhba Narodov). It is held by the workers of our local museum.
This contest is based on the competition among school pupils. This year pupils of our school participated too. They were the pupils of the 5 th form. Our children presented Azerbaijan.
Children had to introduce ceremonies people from different countries preserve.
The girls were demonstrating the ceremony which is connected with New Year’s Day in Azerbaijan. Preparing food for the festive table is important part of the preparing for the holiday!
One of the tasks was preparing national food. Children chose one of the most famous meal and cooked it with their parents. So, I think, it was difficult competition.
Our children with their parents cooked the national meal of Azerbaijan and regaled the jury with tasty pilaf!
Another interesting task was dance. Children not only learned a dance but performed it very emphatically.
Our girls chose and performed the national dance of Azerbaijan’s women. The women of this nation allocated with their beautiful costumes and their grace.
So, we are not winners, but I hope, we will take part in this event and we will win next year!
So, we have a lot of different holidays and many of them are very important for the multination population of our country. Not only adults but children too are interested in this holidays. As for me, I think that such events help children to understand how important is friendship with another nations.
