The text State System of Ukraine

The independence of Ukraine was proclaimed no the 24 th of August, 1991. Ukraine has its own state symbols, Constitution, currency and government. The power in the country is divided into legislative, executive and judiciary.

The main legislative body of Ukraine is the Verkhovna Rada, which consists of 450 deputies. The head of the state is the president. The highest executive body is the Cabinet of Ministers, which is headed by the Prime Minister.

The judiciary power belongs to the Supreme Court and regional courts. The state symbols of Ukraine are the national flag and emblem.
