Mean and sds of arterial PaO2 (a) and PaCO2 (b) in 632 patients during SHFJV. Mean PaO2 was higher than 100 mm Hg during the entire application of SHFJV. PaCO2 was always within the acceptable range 42–46 mm Hg. Patients with co-existing disease (subglottic/tracheal stenosis, COPD, hypocapnia, etc.) had higher levels of PaCO2. Rezaie-Majd A et al. Br.
