Smaller, lower-flow misting nozzles can also be used.

The cows were averaging 30 kg (66 lbs) of milk per day and their body temperatures were 39. 5 degrees X (103. 1 degrees F). In August 2003 we installed and started operating the Cow. Kool system. Within 10 days the feed consumption increased and the milked produced increased to 33 kg (72. 8 lbs) and the body …. temperature of the cows decreased to 38. 7 degrees C (101. 7 degrees F). on average while the daily humidity was 80 -95% and wasn't much lower during the night (we are located less than a mile from the Mediterranean Sea and always receive a sea breeze). The Cow. Kool system that cools the cows and the nearby surroundings yielded a strong cooling effect. The dry matter intake during the toughest months (June – August) was 22. 5 kg (49. 6 lbs). Last year (2005) our herd average was 12, 500 kg (27, 558 lbs). Average daily drop during the hard summer months is roughly 15% (you have to take into consideration that we try and spread the monthly pregnancy rates to conform with the quota system here in Israel). I am very satisfied and believe in the Cow. Kool system. The system is dependable and helps me persevere with the hard summer months. Uri Goldberg, General Manager Hof Hasharon Dairy, Israel
