KSMU • On September 1, 1950 the Karaganda state medical institute accepted the first students on medical faculty. Doctor Peter Moiseevich Pospelov was the director of institute. • 1959 – opening of sanitary and hygienic faculty. • 1962 – opening of pediatric faculty. • 1978 – opening of stomatologic faculty. • 1992 – opening of medico- biological faculty. • 1993 – opening of faculty of professional development of doctors and average medical workers. • • February 25, 1997 – By the resolution of the government of RK KGMI it is transformed to the Karaganda state medical academy. • 2002 – opening of pharmaceutical faculty, faculty of east medicine, medical college. • 2007 -2008 – opening of the specialties "Public Health Care" and "Nurse business". • In 2009 of KGMA it is transformed to the Karaganda state medical university.

Doctor • For 59 years, 32, 742 doctors had graduated from the Karaganda State Medical University. Our graduates are successfully employed both in Kazakhstan and in foreign countries. High qualification of training for practitioners health care, active participation in the implementation of priority areas for development KSMU based on the main provisions of health reform and the President’s message of the Republic of Kazakhstan we can be sure in our future. Education in Karaganda State Medical University is a guarantee of a stable future.

KSMU • KSMU first among medical schools of CIS countries since 2005 has the certificate (recertification in 2008, 2011) all kinds of activity on compliance to requirements of quality management system of the ISO International standard of a series 9001 authorized body of National Quality Assurance Limited, Great Britain valid through 2014. • Now the personnel capacity of higher education institution is presented by 586 employees: 1 academician of HAH PK, 54 doctors of science, 185 candidates of science, 27 masters, 2 employees are winners of the State award RK, 12 have the state grant "The best teacher of higher education institution".

At higher education institution there is a research center Financially - the technical base of laboratories has the modern equipment and the equipment that allows to carry out studies at high level, to carry out scientific researches, to render the medical and diagnostic help.
