Human Trafficking: The situation in Ukraine
Ukraine is a source, transit, and destination country Source country: Women and girls are trafficked to Europe and the Middle East for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Men are trafficked to Europe and North America forced labor. Transit country: Asian and Moldovan victims trafficked to Western countries. Destination country: People from neighboring countries, trafficked forced labor and sexual exploitation. Internal trafficking: men and women are trafficked within the country.
Other Facts: Women and children: • Trafficked into the sex industry Men: • Trafficked for manual labor. Almost 100, 000 Ukrainians have been victims of human trafficking since 1991.
