Hello, People of Spain! Spain is a very beautiful and interesting country located on the Iberian Peninsula which it shares with Portugal, in southwest of Europe.

In Spain you can find everything: mountains to sky, long coasts with different beaches where you can swim, take the sun or surf, museums, ancient cities, Arabic castles, Roman viaduct, flamenco, paella, corrida, football and so on.

The people are a true wealth of this country. Spanish people are active, communicative, emotional, spontaneous and very open. They like to come together with their friend and family in bars, to have breakfast or dinner or some “tapas”. There is very noisy in the bars where the whole Spain comes in to have their dinner during weekends. But the atmosphere is very friendly.

The Spanish are not tall and have dark eyes and dark hair, but they are very different. There are many regional differences and variations in hair type and eye colour. Fair skin, blue and green eyes, light brown, blond, and even red hair is common in many regions.

Most Spaniards live in their own flats in small towns or pueblos. Every town or pueblo has its own Plaza Mayor, the principal four corners square. It is center of cultural and commercial life. Each one has its own local colour in architecture, monuments and atmosphere.

The Spanish have close family ties, they love children and take care for the elderly. They spend more time outdoors enjoying the good climate and excellent company than indoors.

Their music, architecture, gastronomy, sport life is known in the world. Everybody has to taste their paella, especially in Valencia, their tapas and seafood.

There are many holidays in Spain and people enjoy this time. You can see or dance flamenco in Andalucia, surf in Basque country, play golf near Malaga or Cadiz, go skiing to Sierra Nevada, see football in Camp Nou, taste fusion cuisine in Barcelona or go to picnic with you family and friends.
