Elena Pinchuk Fund Anti-AIDS

The Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation is the first and only charity foundation in Ukraine. It is functioning thank to private funds. Main aim of the Foundation is to control the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine.

The foundation was established in September 2003 by Elena Franchuk. In 2010 the Foundation changed its name to the Elena Pinchuk Foundation. In 2010 Elena entered UNAIDS High Level Commission on HIV Prevention 2011 the Foundation launched a competition to develop social media and mobile phone projects for HIV prevention.

Program of the Foundation: national media campaign; large-scale actions involving international stars; raise funds for specific projects; work with opinion leaders; attracting the best international practices to combat the AIDS epidemic in Ukraine; powerful attraction for Ukrainian AIDS.

The Foundation organized the largest in the history of Ukraine charitable activities: Concert of Sir Elton John at the Independence Square in Kiev in 2007. Concert of Queen Paul Rogers on Freedom Square in Kharkiv in 2008.

Visit to Kiev of the 42nd President of the USA, Bill Clinton.

Since its inception, The Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation has invested more than $8 million in HIV/AIDS project in Ukraine and provided assistance to more than 100 health and child facilities serving over 1,044 patients. The Foundation collaborates with the company «MedPack Swiss AG».

During this period, the rate of new HIV cases in the Ukraine decreased from 15.6% in 2005 to 5% in 2009.
