Greece is strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa and has over 3, 000 islands. The climate varies according to region and the temperature is typically from 15 degrees in winter and spring to 30 degrees in summer and autumn. Greece is so rich in culture and beauty that it never seems to be completely explored, no matter how many times you visit it. After all, this is one of the reasons that brought it in the list with the top 20 tourist destinations worldwide!
Chios is the fifth largest of the Greek islands, situated in the Aegean Sea, 7 kilometres (4. 3 mi) off the Anatolian coast. The island is very close Turkey. Chios is notable for its exports of mastic gum and its nickname is The mastic island. Tourist attractions include its medieval villages as Mesta, Olimpoi. You can also visit Campos (where lot of citrus are growing), Masticha villages (Mastichochoria: where masticha is collected), Pyrgi where the style of the houses is landscaped with geometrical designs, and the 11 th-century monastery of Nea Moni, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Local Committee University of Aegean Our LC is 20 years old and is devided in 6 islands but our main office is in Chios Island. We tend to achieve the impossible and lead all changes that 2015 brings. The current period our LC has 20 active members which are committed, and full of passion for what they are doing. Our projects Young Power is the program which targets young students between 1417 years old. The goal is to empower the young students in order to develop their personality and self-awareness, while addressing social issues regarding the labor market. Our projects Impacting kindergartens with exchanges of culture, language, arts and promoting cultural understanding. Main idea of the project is the connection of children at the age between 3 -6 years and international environment in daily live through alternative ways of communication.
