• Australia is the only country in the world that is a continent. It is sixth large country and the smallest continent.

• Australia has six states - New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. Each a state has its government. Australia has two territories- the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory.
• The State Emblem of the Australian Union is represented in the form of the board supported from both parties by a kangaroo and an ostrich emu. • Flag of the Australian Union — one of the state symbols of the country. In the left top quarter the British flag is represented. Besides, on a flag of Australia there is an image of six white stars: five stars in the form of constellation of the Southern Cross in the right part of a panel and one big star in the center of the left bottom quarter.
